I started TerraTreks for three reasons:  I love to hike, I love to  travel, meet new people, encounter different cultures, and eat great food, and to keep me busy when I retire.  But most important, I want to make treks and hikes, like those I've experienced over the years, doable for more people. There is nothing like the feeling I get when I am standing on a summit with a 360 degree view of jagged peaks and spires, watching white puffy clouds float in a deep blue sky.  In my next life I want to be a bird in the Dolomites.

For the past 30 years I've taught college students about the world of Finance.  During my four months off I spend summers hiking in some of the most amazing places on earth.  In winter I ski and snowshoe as much as possible.  In fact, I met the guide for TerraTreks while heliskiing in Canada.
